UNICEF Tajikistan CO is seeking the services of an individual international consultant to lead the consultations and deliberations with key stakeholders and develop the SitAn report using the most recent evidence, while paying due consideration to the latest recommendations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda, UNICEF Strategic Plan for 2022-2025, UNICEF Gender Action Plan 2022-2025, and main national priorities, including the National Development Strategy until 2030 and Mid-term Development Programme 2021-2025, UNSDCF 2023-26, Human Rights Strategy and sectoral strategies and programmes.
The vision of the UNICEF Sustainable WASH Innovation Hub (WASH Hub) is to be a global home for building, accelerating and scaling transformational climate resilient solutions for a WASH secure future of universal and equitable access to services, addressing the full ambition of the SDG6.
To deliver on this goal, the Hub will connect a passionate community of strategic stakeholders at a global event in March 2025, to co-create, advocate, enable, convene, and motivate for innovative sustainable solutions to long-standing barriers and emerging opportunities for a WASH secure and climate resilient future for every child.
The Event is planned as a physical event, but with the possibility of following selected breakout sessions online. The event will provide an opportunity for political leaders, member states, business leaders, multilateral organizations, non-governmental and civil society organizations, youth, academia, development finance institutions and our global UNICEF WASH, CEED (Climate, energy, environment and disaster) and innovation colleagues from country offices to collectively address the urgent WASH needs of children and youth affected by emergencies, climate change and political unrest.
How can you make a difference?
This staff member will drive the development of effective, integrated advocacy and communication strategies. S/he will work collaboratively with colleagues across teams and with external partners to drive changes in policy and practice and secure political and financial commitments for children.
Affordable, accessible, and quality early childhood care and education (ECCE) opportunities, provide significant and longstanding positive impacts and benefits not only for children and working mothers, but also for the business environment and the macro-economy. Investment in critical social services in the early years of a child’s life are known to be a key catalyst in boosting human capital. High-quality ECCE lays the foundation for children’s learning and development, providing the steppingstones for children to become healthy, educated, productive and contributing members of society. When ECCE systems deliver for all children, these services can mitigate against the adverse impacts of poverty and social exclusion.
