The Adolescent Development Officer reports to the Chief Field Office Tartous for supervision while responsible for managing the program in the area of responsibility of two field offices, Tartous and Homs Field Offices (the continuity of responsibility for Homs FO is subject to later changes based on the situation on the ground). The Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process to support the integration of adolescent development and participation in programmes/projects on adolescent development and participation including the light rehabilitation of formal Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) schools and enhanced TVET . With appropriate social and behavioral science, as well as the empowerment and participation of stakeholders, communities, children, civil society partners, and government counterparts, you promote measurable behavioral and social change/mobilization.
You also perform the role of Gender Focal Point for the Office. As such, you provide authoritative technical guidance and operational support throughout all stages of programming to facilitate the management and delivery of results contributing to gender equality in alignment with the UNICEF Gender Action Plan (2022-2025). You support the development, implementation, and monitoring of high-quality gender programming and projects across sectors in alignment with the Gender Action Plan. This subsequently contributes to the achievement of sustainable and concrete results in improving children’s rights, survival, and well-being in the country.
