Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Deputy Representative Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and monitoring all rehabilitation and construction activities in the Country Office (School Wash infrastructure; ECD reference centers; Second Chance Education Centers, child friendly spaces, etc.) and providing technical support to UNICEF Programs/Operations on construction and rehabilitation activities.
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the UNICEF Central African Republic Country Office in the preparation of a submission to the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) pre-sessional working group, ahead of the review of the State Party report submitted by the Government of the Central African Republic.
The submission will provide the Committee with independent, evidence-based information on the situation of children’s rights in the Central African Republic, highlighting progress achieved, key challenges and priority issues requiring attention.
The assignment will contribute to strengthening the quality of the dialogue between the Committee and the State Party by identifying critical gaps, emerging issues and priority areas for action in the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Particular attention will be given to children affected by conflict, displacement, violence, poverty and limited access to essential services, which remain central features of the national context.
The submission will also support the Committee in identifying key questions and recommendations to guide the dialogue with the Government of the Central African Republic and inform future concluding observations.
