UNICEF Belize, in partnership with the National Drug Abuse Control Council (NDACC) and the Organization of American States (OAS), is seeking a qualified Consultant/Training Facilitator to strengthen the capacity of service providers working with adolescents affected by substance use.
This assignment aims to address stigma and discrimination—key barriers that prevent young people from accessing prevention and treatment services—by training social workers, outreach case workers, school counsellors, and healthcare professionals. The training will focus on adolescent-friendly services using the Universal Prevention and Treatment Curricula for Substance Use currently in use in Belize.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop training materials and tools (including pre/post evaluations)
Facilitate a multi-day training for frontline professionals
Provide evidence-based approaches for early detection, crisis intervention, harm reduction, and compassionate care
Promote stigma-free practices and inclusive policy development
Prepare detailed inception and final training reports
