Linking the evidence of the availability of potent vaccines and an effective cold chain to reducing the zero-dose burden, increasing coverage, improving health outcomes and contributing to the economic outcomes of a country becomes an important lever to ensure that investments are made in the right places of the health system to ensure the greatest impact. There are also a multitude of different technologies with different purposes and utilities that governments can use to strengthen their immunization programmes. Some of these are excessively expensive and are not always justified in all contexts.
