| The Child Protection Officer position in Iquique, Chile, operates within the broader framework of UNICEF’s efforts to address the vulnerabilities of children and adolescents in northern Chile, a region significantly impacted by migration and socio-economic disparities. The role supports the implementation of the 2023–2026 Country Programme, which prioritizes protecting children on the move, strengthening national and local child protection systems, and fostering cross-sectoral coordination. The officer works closely with government institutions, civil society, and other partners to address the challenges faced by migrant children, Indigenous communities, and other vulnerable populations, ensuring their rights are upheld and their access to protection services is improved. This position reports to the Programme Officer and contributes to UNICEF’s mission to create safe, inclusive, and equitable environments for all children in the region. |
