The UNICEF China Country Office is entering a new Country Programme cycle (2026–2030), during which effective communication and advocacy will be critical to advance child rights and promote the well-being of children in China and beyond.
A significant volume of communication and advocacy materials—including reports, fact sheets, press releases, human-interest stories, and digital content—are originally developed in English and require high-quality translation and adaptation into Chinese for local audiences. To ensure that all Chinese-language materials meet UNICEF’s standards of accuracy, clarity, style, and impact, the Communication and Advocacy Section seeks to establish a pool of qualified freelance Chinese-language editors.
UNICEF China Office is seeking an experienced international consultant to undertake a developmental evaluation (DE) of the strategic transition of the Office between 2026 and 2027.
The Planning and Monitoring Specialist will be reporting to the Chief Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, P4, the position will provide essential support to the planning function internally as well as externally as well as some support on monitoring for the country programme through the various stages of the country programme cycle. This includes the planning function for nexus programming and the integration of humanitarian action to development work planning and the operationalization of the humanitarian-development nexus.

The postholder will enhance the quality, timeliness, and accountability of UNICEF-supported services for maternal, infant and young child nutrition (MIYCN), prevention and treatment of acute malnutrition (wasting), and nutrition-sensitive, multi-sectoral approaches aligned with UNICEF’s Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action (CCCs)
