The Senior Program Coordinator serves as the principal adviser on coordinating World Bank (WB) program portfolio (4 projects), coordinating all phases of each project, from formulation to delivery of results in accordance with UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance and accountability framework, ethics, and integrity. He ensures development of workplan, performance benchmark, budget coherence, and integration within country office strategies and programs.
Given the emerging efforts to develop eLearning within Sudan and to work towards a coherent approach, UNICEF has generated and developed digital content on various electronic platforms for different educational groups. The content will now be used in the emergency setup in country to ensure children continue learning in different modalities including in child-friendly safe-learning spaces in safer states of the country. Moreover, the “Learning Passport” is available for children to access wherever they are and is the only mean of learning in hot spot areas.
To support this work, UNICEF will recruit 3 digital learning junior consultants, whom will be responsible for preparing 10,000 tablets to be distributed for schools and e-learning centers in various states, in addition to maintaining some tablets that need to be fixed.
Sudan is currently experiencing a significant crisis in the education sector, with over 19 million school-aged children affected and many schools lacking basic educational resources. In response to these challenges, there is a critical need to strengthen the Education Management Information System (EMIS) to ensure effective planning, monitoring, and management of educational resources and services across the country.
UNICEF, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, aims to develop a comprehensive digital map and shapefiles for 26,000 schools in Sudan. As part of the operational capacity support to SCO Operations section, a Humanitarian Cash Transfers Manager provides technical assistance in the design and implementation of large cash transfer interventions. The technical ability of the Cash Transfer Manager will focus on documenting programmatic requirements and objectives to be served by the CIU, guiding coherent design of program interventions considering delivery requirements, alignment of cash intervention design with established CIU operating procedures and strategic focus, and translation of programmatic technical requirements into operational delivery needs to be serviced by CIU.
