The purpose of this temporary appointment is to support the various steps in the Country Programme Development process and fill the gap in capacity of the Programme Planning, Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation (PMR-E) section to manage these additional requirements.
The main tasks and responsibilities fall under 4 main areas; however, the staff member may be called upon to support across any of the PMRE work area pillars outside of this primary focus:
1. Support the Country Programme Planning (CPP) Process
2. Donor Reporting and Proposals
3. Knowledge Management
4. Planning and Monitoring
UNICEF South Africa is looking for a consultant to be seconded to the Department of Social Development’s Orphans and Vulnerable Children Directorate with dual reporting to UNICEF and DSD for the duration of the assignment.
Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisors, the Programme Associate supports the Health and Nutrition section, as well as the Front Office, by carrying out a range of programme support functions to help develop, implement and monitor their country programme, ensuring effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations.
The Programme Associate works in close collaboration with a range of staff in the Country Office (CO), external partners, and agency counterparts in support of programme design and delivery. S/He provides regular feedback on the status of projects through monitoring milestones and advises on improvements to keep activities on track.
