UNICEF’s Office of Innovation seeks an experienced consultant to support ongoing efforts
to scale UPSHIFT, a global skills building programme through learning delivery models
leveraging digital learning platforms as well as Artificial Intelligence(AI). Specifically the
candidate will develop a digital strategy and AI strategy for UPSHIFT.
The successful candidate will be a part of the Portfolio, Culture, and Scale team based in
Stockholm and will work under the direct supervision of the UPSHIFT global lead. The
consultant will work remotely and is expected to be available along CET time zone during
the active engagement of the assignment.
Under the shared guidance of the Senior Programme Specialist (Prevention, Recovery and Transitions) and the Programme Specialist, CEED, the Programme Specialist, HDP nexus is responsible for overseeing knowledge management (KM) and the curation of a strong global evidence base on UNICEF’s work across the humanitarian-development-peace (HDP) nexus, including in relation to climate action, and contributes to and represents UNICEF in technical-level interagency processes related to the nexus.
The Innovation Officer (Impact Analyst) reports to the Senior Impact Analyst, Innovative Financing of the IF Hub in Helsinki. He/she will work closely with other divisions on innovation and innovative finance, including internal divisions such as Office of the Executive Director (OED), Public Partnership Division (PPD), Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP), Programme Group (PG), Division of Financial and Administrative Management (DFAM), Legal and Supply Division (SD), as well as external actors.

A successful candidate has the ability to act as a decisive design team lead, product owner, mentor, trainer, team player and partner, crafting thoughtful concepts driven by strategic insight and demonstrating how unconventional thinking can lead to world-class sustainable solutions. You master the human-centered design process and methodologies inside and out and are also able to transfer that knowledge to the team through guidelines, templates, training and hands-on support. When needed, you create prototypes, facilitate workshops, and offer design support as necessary, while keeping your eye on ultimate strategic goals.
