UNICEF is seeking for a Consultant to provide high‑level insights on the GSSC’s current state and trajectory, to inform decisions that shape its priorities and planning.
UNICEF GSSC is looking for a dynamic profession with strategic leadership and technical oversight of UNICEF’s global payroll, offboarding and job classification functions, ensuring accurate, timely, compliant and client-focused service delivery. The incumbent leads a team of specialized HR professionals responsible for complex, high-risk and interdependent processes. As a principal advisor to senior management, the Chief provides authoritative guidance on payroll, separation-related entitlements, pension and insurance processes, and job classification. The role ensures the consistent application of UNICEF policies, UN common system regulations and internal control requirements.
UNICEF is seeking to engage an individual consultant to undertake a focused operational review of SCC workflows, identify operational bottlenecks and process inefficiencies, and provide practical recommendations to strengthen operational coordination, harmonization, workload management, and process optimization.
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting UNICEF Offices worldwide in key finance areas such as Payments, General Accounting, Invoice Processing, or Master Data Management. Your main responsibilities will include processing and verifying data with precision, ensuring that information entered into the organization’s ERP systems is precise and reliable, addressing and resolving discrepancies to maintain high standards of financial accountability. You will also assist offices and support various GSSC initiatives by reviewing case documentation for completeness, validity, and compliance with current rules and regulations, while providing expert guidance and continuously improving quality and efficiency. It is a great opportunity for career development in a fast-paced, multicultural context and for taking the first step towards an international career as part of the UN family.
The Senior ICT Associate (Process Optimization and Automation – Developer) contributes to continuous improvement across the full automation lifecycle – from assessment and qualification of candidate processes, through design, development and testing, to deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement. The role spans the GSSC service lines (Finance and Master Data Management; HR, Payroll and Offboarding; and Customer Care) and applies the most appropriate technique from across the automation spectrum to each opportunity, rather than relying on a single tool. Where automation can be enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI), these capabilities are leveraged through UNICEF’s enterprise platforms (for example, Microsoft Copilot and ServiceNow NowAssist) within the architecture and governance boundaries maintained by DID, rather than developed as stand-alone systems.
