Under the leadership of Nutrition Department, MoH and with the support of UNICEF, WFP, WHO, and the Malnutrition prevention technical working group and selected implementing partners, the consultant will lead the review process of the documents/materials.
• The consultant will be based in Juba and will work with the team on ground to develop a plan of action for the review process.
o Develop a workplan with timelines for completion of each activity in the review process.
o Organize consultative meetings as necessary and when needed.
o Undertake a desk review of available documents in the area of this work
o Update the malnutrition prevention TWG on progress of the work.
• Facilitate a validation workshop for the revised document/materials, take note of all comments provided and incorporate them into the materials before finalizing.
• Finalize the MIYCN training and communication materials and present them to MOH for printing and dissemination.
• Facilitate two training of trainers with the developed MIYCN training materials
The purpose of this consultancy (6 months) is to: 1) lead and coordinate the in-country research study assessing the availability, effectiveness and quality of existing community-based mechanisms for reporting SEA including providing technical support, trainings and capacity building to partners, data collectors; 2) leading the in-country consultations with vulnerable groups to identify their preferences and needs related to SEA reporting; support the design of an evidence-based and fit-for-purpose programming model for reporting SEA suitable for South Sudan; and, 3) implementation of the evidence-based and needs-informed PSEA programming model for reporting and gathering of lessons-learned.
The international consultant will provide recommendations to UNICEF South Sudan, with a focus on Environment and Climate Action programme, by identifying a set of actionable opportunities to integrate climate, environment, and energy-related development issues into UNICEF’s sectoral programmes and cooperation with South Sudan government agencies.
If needed, the consultant will liaise with the climate, environment, energy and DRR teams in regional offices and UNICEF headquarters through the Climate Resilient WASH section for support, feedback and coordination
