The intern will work under the direct supervision of a Social Policy Specialist. The minimum requirement is being a student who graduated from Bachelor’s Degree or in final year of Bachelor’s Degree or is currently pursuing master’s degree in economics, social science, and any other relevant field with strong interest in public finance management particularly budget analysis and advocacy.

The Public Partnerships Division (PPD) works to strengthen UNICEF’s position as a partner of choice for children’s right among governments and public actors around the world. The intern will acquire direct practical experience in PPD Tokyo’s work and the United Nations system by supporting the office’s quality assurance, analysis/research and administrative tasks related to resource mobilisation with the Government of Japan activities under general guidance of the supervisor (Senior Advisor or Public Partnership Specialist).
The purpose of this internship will be to support a project to inventorise the key processes that cut across sections and offices, and, working closely with the process owners, redesign the process flows using a user-centred perspective to clarify process flows and accountabilities. The output will be a library of user-friendly service blueprints and re-designed process maps. The Intern will also coordinate with an ongoing project to update the digital workplace, where key processes can be digitalized and automated.
The Public Partnerships intern will work closely with the PPD’s International Financial Institutions (IFIs) team based in Washington DC, supporting the team with a variety of tasks related to the management of IFI partners. The incumbent will also work closely with the IFIs team in the preparation and coordination of UNICEF’s Global Workshop on IFIs, which is tentatively planned for February 2024.
The intern will support the overall work of the Africa/Mena team in building and maintaining good partnership/relationships with the Africa and Mena Member States, enhancing the dialogue on issues related to children as well as fostering and developing innovative partnerships. The intern’s primary responsibilities include supporting research, desk review and analysis of reference documents and publication as well as knowledge management.
The purpose of the UNICEF internship programme is:
1. To provide a framework by which current eligible undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students from diverse academic backgrounds may be assessed and assigned to UNICEF offices in Sudan, where their educational experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments.
2. To expose the interns to the work of UNICEF in South Sudan.
3. To provide UNICEF offices with the assistance of qualified students and recent university graduates in various professional fields.
UNICEF Jordan is focusing more on digital communications to achieve its overall strategic communication objectives. One of these objectives is to engage the Youth of Jordan and communicate with them through the digital latest trends Platforms like YouTube and Instagram have been growing in Jordan significantly and we have a room to grow there, reach and engage more audience on topics that matters to their lives and wellbeing.
