The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships (PSFP) section within the Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) works with National Committees and Country Offices to drive and maximize income growth for children in emergencies. The Emergency Fundraising Unit in PSFP supports and coordinates cross-organization initiatives on humanitarian crisis and sudden onset disasters by leading global efforts in maximizing funding opportunities and supports National Committees and Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) Countries. Within the Emergency Fundraising Unit, the Knowledge Management Specialist is responsible for the collection and analysis of all relevant information from different stakeholders including HQ departments, National Committees and PSFR countries and make them available to support and promote evidence-based and informed decision making. To support the knowledge management function, the Emergency Fundraising Unit is looking for professional support for the development of data visualizations and graphic design for donor related materials.

How can you make a difference?

Within the framework of the PFP Impact plan, the overall purpose of this assignment is to provide, on a need’s basis, professional graphic design and data visualization services to facilitate data analysis and reporting on the one hand and to increase uptake of products created by the unit on the other hand. The content will be provided by the emergency fundraising unit.

Implement UNICEF’s branding policy: Ensure that all publications, reports and products are produced in line with UNICEF graphic guidelines.

• Design fact sheets, donor proposals, guidelines, briefs, and/or presentations.
• Design infographics, and data visualizations, for print and/or digital platforms.
• Design bespoke reports e.g., 1-month mark and 100-day mark reports.
• Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, electronic newsletter, web-based and animated presentations.
• Design user-friendly and intuitive pages for the Emergency Hub on SharePoint modern.
• Improve and edit photos, videos, charts, and other graphic elements.
• Design fact sheets, donor proposals, guides, briefs, presentations
• Bespoke reports e.g., 1-month mark and 100-day mark reports
• Creative designs for print, electronic newsletter, web-based and animated presentations.
• Design user-friendly and intuitive pages for the Emergency Hub on SharePoint modern
• Design of electronic newsletter monthly
5 months, Part-time, estimated up to 40 working days, tentatively starting on 1st June to November 2022 (40 days).

Remote work, with main working hours aligned to the Geneva, Switzerland time zone (CET).

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• University degree in graphic design or any other relevant field
• At least three (3) years of professional graphic design and data visualization experience.
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s branding and style guidelines is desirable.
• Experience designing products for UNICEF or other UN agencies is desirable.
• Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
• Excellent creative skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign software.
• Ability to deliver products on time and within budget.
• Ability to deliver high quality products under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Teams and to be very responsive over email.
• Fluency in English is required.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. The candidate may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid).
