Established in 2015, UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) provides services to UNICEF offices across the world in the areas of Finance, Master Data Management, Human Resources Administration, Payroll, and Customer Care (IT Global Help Desk).

How can you make a difference?

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the stream lead, the intern will be responsible for supporting projects and change initiatives in the Service Quality Management (SQM) team under Client Engagement and Change Management. The intern will also perform ad hoc administrative, analysis, coordination and support functions in support of the overall Service Quality Management (SQM) team.

This may involve:

  • Provide support related to client engagement, change management and UN Reform
  • Assist with data analysis and generation of reports
  • Prepare relevant documentation with key information for dissemination (PowerPoint Presentation, briefs, reports etc.)
  • Project management support
  • Other support activities, to be determined

As an advocate for every child, you will have…

  • Current enrolment in a degree programme at the Bachelor or Masters level or recent graduate (up to 2 years) in Business Administration, Economics, Social Science or other related fields
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Technical competency – Very good analytical skills and ability to synthesize concepts and material into clear and concise thoughts (see also communication below)
  • Technical competency - Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent understanding of and knowledge of software such as but not limited to Lotus based applications, HTML, Word, Excel.
  • Managing resources ability - Organizes and manages information to achieve defined goals and optimum results.
  • Communication skills - Effectively presents thoughts and ideas including complex technical concepts, in a clear, concise, and readily understood manner, both verbally and in writing. Listens to and acknowledges others' perspectives and views.
  • Flexibility - Works effectively on multiple assignments simultaneously and adapts to changing demands and circumstances.
  • Interpersonal skills – able to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Eligible applicants must be nationals of EU countries or be eligible to work in Hungary.
  • The selected intern will be required to provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior to taking up the assignment.

Contract Duration and Terms

  • This contract is for a 3-month duration, a minimum of 3 days in the office, 2 days remote per week
  • Intern is expected to be in the office when needed for specific activities
  • The anticipated start date of this internship is mid-July 2024.
  • This internship is paid with a stipend of net HUF 2105 / hour capped at net HUF 362,133 per month.
  • Maximum 40 working hours per week are possible
  • Individuals must fund their travel and living expenses
  • Individuals must have proof of medical insurance covering their time at the duty station
  • Individuals are personally responsible for obtaining any required visa or residence permit, covering the entire period of their internship
  • Interns may take up to 2.5 days per month off work for any reason, including for medical reasons. The stipend will be reduced for any absence beyond this quota
