BACKGROUND
Purpose of Activity/ Assignment:
- Support the ICSE global team with relevant content and support to set up key platforms.
- Develop approaches to make the strategy accessible and actionable for all stakeholders.
- Conduct kickoff meetings with Partnerships and ICSE.
- Develop internal communications hubs including a SharePoint site, content for Viva Engage, an inaugural Africa Townhall, and leadership stories to promote transparency and clear communication of the Strategy’s mission to UNICEF team members.
2.Fundraising strategy
- Collect and analyze evidence to develop compelling investment cases aimed at attracting new funding sources.
- Work with relevant teams to develop a detailed project plan, timeline, and understanding of the stakeholders.
- Draft investment-level prospectus including aggregate contribution targets, funding requirements, and impact
- Human Resources
- Develop project plan and timeline.
- Monitor progress to ensure effective and timely execution of initiatives.
- Executive the plan for timely delivery.
- Ensure a clear, compelling visual layout aligned with UNICEF branding across all fundraising and communications materials.
- Engage relevant stakeholders to build awareness and commitment to the strategy's goals and priorities.
- Interview directors/RDs, as well as PG leaders, for strategy-level materials and pillar-level materials, respectively.
- Compile human interest stories detailing existing programming for continental initiatives.
- Compile templates for comprehensive progress and annual reports highlighting UNICEF’s achievements, challenges, and lessons learned in the context of the Africa Strategy.
- Ensure these reports are data-driven and provide actionable insights for future planning.
- Collect feedback from stakeholders, including the Partnerships Cone and the Global ICSE Team.
- Lead briefings or training sessions for smooth adoption.
- Provide final documentation for long-term usability.

Qualifications
Education:
Advanced university degree in public policy, economics, social sciences
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required *:
- A minimum of 8 years of work experience in social sciences, human rights, public policy, or complex program design
- Project management experience
- Program design, monitoring and evaluation, and program coordination skills required Human Resources United Nations Children’s Fund Prior knowledge of working at UNICEF an asset, including working on high impact initiatives
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with multi-stakeholder engagement and diplomacy
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
Requirements:

- Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed satisfactory deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
U.S. Visa information:
With the exception of the US Citizens, G4 Visa and Green Card holders, should the selected candidate and his/her household members reside in the United States under a different visa, the consultant and his/her household members are required to change their visa status to G4, and the consultant’s household members (spouse) will require an Employment Authorization Card (EAD) to be able to work, even if he/she was authorized to work under the visa held prior to switching to G4.
