UNICEF Country Office in Croatia is looking for Face-to-Face (F2F) Fundraiser for the direct recruitment of pledge donors during all of 2025. Fundraising activities will be conducted in Zagreb and Rijeka as well as in cities across the country with mobile teams. To reach our fundraising targets, a team of 35 - 50 Fundraisers is required continuously.
According to the 2023-2027 Country Programme Document and 2022-2025 Private Sector Fundraising Strategic Plan, structured private sector fundraising activities are one of the core roles of UNICEF Croatia and Country Office has been continuously integrating its programmatic, fundraising and communications efforts. Within pledge activities throughout 2017-2022 Programme, Face-to-Face fundraising has been identified as a central technique for pledge acquisition and therefore it is continued in the 2023-2027 Programme Cycle.
How can you make a difference?
Scope of Work:
- Representing UNICEF, its vision and mission in a professional manner
- Acquisition of pledge donors
- Conveying the message of UNICEF program activities
- Communicating the importance of sustainable funding through the private sector (regular donors) for program implementation and its positive impact on organizational costs
- Continuous research and updating of knowledge through UNICEF website, social networking platforms, quarterly newsletters and through attendance at Fundraisers meetings
- Collecting sensitive donor information and handling of same with the highest regard for confidentiality and information security
- Adhering to work schedule and timely delivery and handover of all paperwork (timesheets, standing order forms, donor inquiries, etc.) to F2F Fundraising Team or Leaders or direct to Office
- Following instructions and procedures on how work is to be delivered; all relevant information must be reported and communicated to F2F Fundraising Team Leaders or Office.
- If a Fundraiser is selected (based on performance and availability) for a mobile team project travel expenses to and from visiting city, as well as eventual accommodation costs (if stay is required) will be covered by Office. Fundraiser conduct during official travel is expected to be highly professional and in line with organizational values.
- General support to fundraising activities as needed.
Duration:
- Fundraisers are expected to work a minimum of 4 hours per day and a minimum of 3 days per week (including a minimum of two weekend shifts per month).
Estimated Consultancy fee:
- Fundraisers will be paid monthly, based on the monthly break down of tasks and the number of acquired pledge donors and based on the supervisor’s evaluation. Payments will be made in local currency directly to the bank account.
- Monthly Fee Calculation: Candidates will be paid based on the number of acquired pledge donors / signed standing orders and the quality of pledge donors, focused on donor age and the average amount of donation.
Travel expenses:
- Travel outside of duty station is planned through mobile teams in bigger cities where we have arranged monthly visits for conducting F2F fundraising activities.
- If travel occurs, all supporting travel documentation will be provided to Office. For travel consultant is expected to use the most economic mode of transportation to comply with UNICEF’s general policy of cost-effective agency.
- For travelling by bus or train, the expenses made for tickets will be added to the fee amount, upon submitting bus/train tickets to the UNICEF Office.

- Proficiency in written and spoken Croatian is required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is preferred.
- Understanding of UNICEF brand and general knowledge of UNICEF activities is preferred.
- Understanding marketing with an ethical approach is mandatory.
- Good communication and strong interpersonal skills are mandatory.
- Adaptability as a team member is mandatory.
- Eagerness to learn is mandatory.
- Approachable, outgoing, resourceful is preferred.
- The ability of adjustment in new surroundings and circumstances is preferred.
