                                                         TERMS OF REFERENCE

UNICEF, as the lead agency for nutrition supply procurement in Ethiopia, requires a Logistics Consultant to support the Nutrition and Supply Sections in planning and managing the nutrition supply chain. The assignment will focus on addressing supply chain bottlenecks, strengthening forecasting, pipeline management, distribution, monitoring, and partner capacity, to ensure the timely and accountable delivery of life-saving nutrition supplies and the uninterrupted implementation of nutrition programmes in complex humanitarian and development contexts. The consultant will also support procurement and logistics-related quality assurance for equipment and technology transfer for the local production of nutritious foods.

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Master`s university degree in one of the following fields is required: Logistics, Transport, supply chain management, Public Health, Nutrition, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of five [5] years of professional work experience at national and international levels in logistics, in a development and humanitarian context, is required.
  • Experience in setting up a logistics management system for health or nutrition commodities at the international, national, or sub-national level will be considered an asset. 
  • Experience in setting up supply monitoring/compliance systems, including innovative end-user monitoring systems, would be a plus. 
  • Prior working experience in Ethiopia is a strong asset.
  • Background/familiarity with emergency operations and staff security.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required
  • Technical requirement: A sample report demonstrating excellent writing skills with specific experience in writing on logistics related issues and aid-diversion reports
