How can you make a difference?

As Fund Raising Officer (Digital), you will play a critical role in accelerating UNICEF Malaysia’s digital fundraising growth by translating strategy into high-impact, data-driven campaigns that acquire, retain, and engage individual donors. Through innovative use of digital channels, continuous testing and analytics, and a strong focus on donor experience, you will help maximize income, strengthen long-term donor value, and ensure UNICEF remains at the forefront of digital fundraising. By working closely with internal teams, agencies, and global partners, and by supporting effective digital operations and knowledge sharing, this role will directly contribute to sustainable fundraising results that enable UNICEF to deliver life-changing programmes for children across Malaysia and beyond.

The Fund Raising Officer (Digital) plays a pivotal role in advancing UNICEF Malaysia’s digital fundraising ambition by implementing innovative, data‑driven strategies that drive donor acquisition, retention, and long‑term value. The role is responsible for planning, delivering, and optimizing digital fundraising campaigns across multiple online channels, ensuring strong performance through continuous analysis, testing, and improvement. Working closely with internal teams, digital agencies, and global and regional partners, the incumbent supports effective campaign execution, oversees day‑to‑day digital operations, ensures compliance with systems and data protection requirements, and contributes to knowledge sharing and capacity building. Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • A completed first level university degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, Digital Advertising, Digital marketing, Digital Fundraising, eCommerce and any other related fields is required.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years' professional experience in digital marketing, eCommerce, digital fundraising, or other related fields is required, with progressively increasing responsibilities, including direct responsibility for setting and meeting income targets.
  • Experience in managing digital agencies towards agreed KPIs for profitable growth is required.
  • Relevant Marketing experience is required.
  • Experience in digital paid media marketing (search, display ad), email marketing, content management system, social media posting, eCommerce and analytics is required.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle end-to-end campaign execution, from planning and budgeting to monitoring and optimization is required.
  • Strong project management skills are required.
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and provide strategy to achieve results is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated verbal and written communications to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of project team are required.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines, to prioritize assignments as necessary, and to work well under pressure is required.
  • Proficiency in using digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics is required.
  • Demonstrate data analysis skills, including digital tracking and analytics, is required.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:

  • Experience with alternative digital marketing strategies, including SEO, email marketing, influencer marketing, content marketing, and CRM channels is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of CRO, A/B testing, UI/UX, and online payments as well as experience in managing external web development agencies is an advantage.
  • Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or Malay is considered an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an asset.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF.
