How can you make a difference?
The Operations Assistant supports the effective delivery of ICT, administrative, and premises management services within UNICEF Argentina Country Office. By providing technical assistance, coordinating operational processes, and ensuring the reliability of office systems and infrastructure, the incumbent contributes to business continuity, operational excellence, and an enabling work environment that supports the achievement of UNICEF programme objective.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:

  1. ICT General / Office Support
    Provide first-level support including logging and processing service requests
    Maintain physical and logical ICT infrastructure security
    Support events with ICT and audiovisual equipment
    Provide hardware and software support to users
    Assist in ICT initiatives implementation
    Maintain inventories and documentation
    Install, configure and maintain ICT systems.
  2.  ICT Administration
    Prepare periodic and ad hoc ICT reports
    Track service requests lifecycle in management systems
    Support training and capacity building initiatives
    Keep users informed on request status
    Support SharePoint, OneDrive and related platforms
  3. Premises Support
    Monitor premises conditions and assets daily
    Coordinate maintenance, suppliers, and repairs
    Supervise outsourced services (security, cleaning, reception)
    Support staff on premises-related needs
    Maintain inventories of common areas
    Act as on-site focal point for operational issues

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements:

        1. Education: Completed secondary education is required. 
        2. Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology, IT support, Service desk, Network administration, Systems administration, Audiovisual support, Facilities management, Vendor management, Asset management, Inventory management and any other related fields.
        3. Skills: ICT, Information Technology, Computer Systems, Computer Network, SharePoint, Hardware maintenance.
        4. Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish and Intermediate level knowledge of English are required.

Desirables:

  1. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.
  2. Completed formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering. 
  3. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Failure to comply with such requirements, where applicable and without a duly approved medical exemption from the relevant UN authority, will result in the cancellation of the selection or may lead to other administrative measures, including separation from service.
