The focus of Operations Associate positions at this level is on providing comprehensive operational and technical support across core functional areas including administration, finance and budget, people and culture, information and communications technology (ICT), and supply and procurement. The role involves implementation, coordination, data and records management, and client-oriented services in line with UNICEF’s operational policies, systems, and strategic objectives.
Support includes transactional and specialized activities such as managing office systems and workflows, supporting event logistics, processing travel and financial transactions, maintaining ICT platforms and cybersecurity practices, and coordinating procurement and supply chain operations. Operations Associates are expected to interpret and apply organizational rules, regulations, and procedures, often in situations requiring adaptation and problem-solving beyond standard guidelines. These positions require the incumbent to work independently with limited supervision oversight, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results in alignment with work plans and operational priorities.

Reporting to the Representative, and in close coordination with the deputy representative, deputy representative (Operations), field services, and the programme sections, the CFO would provide interim headship of the Cox’s Bazaar office until a replacement arrives, and will lead and coordinate the review, design, of the response to the Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazaar (Bangladesh). He/she will support the programme alignment, engage with partners and coordinate and manage all phases of programme formulation, new initiatives, planning, design, implementation and administration of the total programme commitment of the Cox’s Bazaar office with a broad range of projects, consistent with the organization’s goals, strategy, and priorities. This is a programme of more than one hundred million USD and represents around 150 staff and consultants.
