The Child Protection Specialist reports to the Chief Child Protection for guidance and general supervision. He/She will focus on CPiE/GBViE/MRM and will work in collaboration with the Child Protection Officer (NOC). This CP Specialist will also support the broader programme to address CP/GBV related concerns.
The incumbent will work under the guidance and direct supervision of the Chief Monitoring and Evaluation, P5 in the ECW secretariat, which is currently hosted by UNICEF and will contribute to the development and production of ECW's annual results reports, provide technical support to partners and grantees on monitoring, measurement, evaluation and reporting aspects among others.
The overall goal of the consultancy is to develop sound and feasible policy proposals to the upcoming disability assessment reform in Slovakia making sure that the new disability assessment is in line with CRPD and CRC and considers all age groups (beyond WHODAS methodology) and different types of disability – notably children, and to align assessment system for Slovak and Ukrainian refugee children.). Policy options will be validated with national stakeholders and discussed with the government. Disability community’s participation will be ensured in all stages of the consultancy.
The Nutrition Cluster Coordinator will facilitate a timely and effective nutrition response in South Sudan, which is within a complex humanitarian context. Key drivers of acute malnutrition are multifaceted, including severe acute food insecurity, sub-optimal feeding practices, high prevalence of disease, inadequate sanitation conditions and hygiene practices, and limited access to health and nutrition services driven by sub-national violence, floods and; South Sudanese returnees. In South Sudan, an estimated 2.2 million people in need of nutrition assistance.
The programme of UNICEF Yemen does not presently have any substantive focus on youth and adolescent empowerment and participation. Given the age and vulnerability profile of the country, this requires urgent attention, with a view that UNICEF Yemen will have designed and at least partly funded a comprehensive youth programme as part of its CPD accountabilities within 2024. This deliverable of this three-month assignment is to design that programme, with consideration for the situational context, the operating environment, and the capacity and interest of counterparts, donors, sister agencies and partners.
