Coordination Group (ACG), and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), UNICEF, in collaboration with the Government
of Uzbekistan, is supporting national efforts to strengthen an inclusive education system in which every child can access
quality education, participate meaningfully in learning and school life, and achieve their full potential.
As part of this support, UNICEF is assisting the development and operationalization of the Inclusive Education Strategy of

operating procedures (SOPs) to be institutionalized and to contribute to the revision of the existing legislative framework.
The Centrality of Protection (henceforth “CoP”) is fully aligned with UNICEF’s core mandate to promote, protect, respect, and defend the rights of children everywhere. The CoP, underpinned by the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and reflected in the Core Commitments to Children (CCCs), strengthens UNICEF’s ability to deliver on its core mandate.
The commitment of UNICEF to CoP is reflected in its endorsement of relevant Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) policies and frameworks. Against a backdrop of widespread violations affecting children and communities, non-compliance with international law by parties to conflict, and growing humanitarian and protection needs amid increasingly constrained resources, there is an urgent need to ensure that protection considerations are systematically integrated across all of UNICEF’s humanitarian and development efforts.
To contribute to the process of embedding CoP across the organization, UNICEF is engaging a consultant to develop trainings on CoP that would increase both the understanding and capacity of staff members to implement CoP within the organization.
