Grenada’s school WASH systems face high vulnerability to intensifying climate disasters like Hurricane Beryl, causing service disruptions and prolonged closures. A new initiative aims to develop minimum climate-resilient standards for school infrastructure to ensure educational continuity. Stakeholders will be trained to implement these guidelines, improving the long-term sustainability of sanitation and water facilities.
The United States Government remains UNICEF’s largest donor. Unlike many other donors whose funds are received in advance, the majority of US Government funding is provided to UNICEF on a reimbursement basis. The Finance Officer contribute directly to sustaining positive donor relations, strengthening UNICEF’s credibility with the US Government, and ensuring full compliance with the requirements of the relevant US Government bureaus. The communications Officer is responsible to develop and implement DFAM’s communication strategy, S/He reports on the divisional goals, objectives, results and priorities as well as supports the same for the Operations Community of Practice.
