UNICEF Mozambique seeks to engage a WASH in Emergency (WiE) Consultant to support the implementation of emergency WASH program in conflict affected Cabo Delgado province funded by the United States through OCHA. The main objective of the WASH response is to ensure that children and women affected by the conflict have access to safe water, basic sanitation and hygiene services. This will contribute towards reduction in WASH related diseases and malnutrition, thereby increasing child survival in the province.
The purpose of this consultancy is to promote, strengthen and organize Data and Monitoring efforts that cut across UNICEF Boa Vista Field Office programme areas. The consultant must make sure that situation monitoring and data gathering is properly undertaken to monitor both the situation of Venezuelan children on the move and UNICEF’s development interventions.
In line with the Selo UNICEF systemic result on disaster risk reduction and national frameworks for emergency contingency planning, UNICEF aims to foster the capacity of subnational governments to ensure no child is left behind when crisis strikes.
The consultant will collaborate with all of the fifteen municipalities in Roraima in the development and qualification of child sensitive contingency plans that are in compliance with relevant federal guidance, in particular the national protocol for the protection of children and adolescents in situations of risk and disaster.

In this role you will be strengthening UNICEF Brazil’s financial management by supporting budget control, grant allocation and monitoring, contributions management, payroll allocation, and accounting accuracy. You will ensure timely and compliant allocation and rephasing of grants, accurate reconciliation of financial data across global systems, and reliable financial reporting to support evidence based decision making.
In this position, you will work closely with programme colleagues, finance peers, and Headquarters to maintain sound financial controls, support mid year and year end account closures, and contribute to audit readiness in line with UNICEF financial rules and regulations. You will also provide guidance to programme and operations staff on finance related matters, support payroll funding and cost distribution processes, and assist in the development of dashboards and analytical tools that enhance transparency and accountability. You will also be responsible for the digitalization of the budget and allocation local processes to adhere to UNICEF global tools and providing accurated and automated financial data.
