How can you make a difference?

This is a batch vacancy announcement for multiple upcoming GS-5 level positions in the Recruitment Administrative Services (RAS). The recommended candidates will be considered for fixed-term and temporary posts as needed.

Under the close supervision and guidance of the People & Culture Officer (RAS), the People & Culture Assistant (RAS) provides administrative, procedural and operational support and assistance to the efficient implementation of recruitment services for all categories of staff in the office, ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:

Support in recruitment:

  • Responsible for service delivery to designated client groups within the expected SLAs with accuracy and high-quality standards.
  • Liaises with Business Partners and Hiring Managers along the recruitment process including longlisting of candidates, coordinating assessments etc.
  • Acts as the focal point for candidates in the various stages of the recruitment process.
  • Monitors the full life-cycle of recruitment process.
  • Arranges and organizes online assessments.
  • Coordinates interview arrangements.
  • Informs unsuccessful candidates by sending timely system notifications.
  • Maintains talent pools.
  • Keeps abreast of recruitment related policies and procedures.
  • Escalates any non-compliance to the People & Culture Officer.
  • Liaises with GSSC HR Administration Onboarding as necessary.

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is a minimum requirement.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in human resources administration and a minimum of one (1) year experience in recruitment administration or talent management support is required. A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted towards the minimum work experience requirement. Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience is required for candidates holding bachelor’s degree in relevant fields. A relevant master’s degree may replace additional two (2) years.
  • Skills: Proficient in computer usage and familiar with standard office software tools (such as MS Office and enterprise databases) and other office technologies for documentation, email management, and electronic filing. Strong oral and written communication skills, planning abilities, effective workload management, and capacity to handle multiple priorities are necessary. A customer-oriented service approach is expected.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and intermediate level of French or Spanish (verbal and written) are required. Working level Arabic at intermediate level is an asset.

Desirables:

  • University level courses in human resources, business administration and other related fields are desirable.
  • Previous hands-on experience in planning, organizing and delivering administrative support services is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or recruitment platforms is an asset.
  • Work experience with a development organization is an asset.
  • Knowledge of UN/UNICEF'S rules, regulations and procedures is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Chinese, Russian) is considered an asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency. 

Specific work conditions: The People & Culture Assistant (RAS) is expected to work eight-hour shifts between 7am and 7pm five days a week, accommodating the time zone of the respective region. Working on Sunday with a compensatory day off may also be required.
