technical advice and capacity-building support to UNICEF Country Offices and governments. These consultants will help
accelerate child-centered national climate policies, focusing on:
• Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)
• National Adaptation Plans (NAPs)
• Sectoral policies and plans
The roster will function as a stand-by mechanism, enabling UNICEF to rapidly mobilise pre-qualified experts to design,
assess, pilot, and scale climate-resilient investments that safeguard the continuity of essential services for children and
accelerate results in the context of a changing climate |

The roster will support UNICEF Offices and partners worldwide by enabling the CoE to deliver targeted technical assistance during its establishment phase, contributing to climate-resilient and low-carbon development outcomes for children. Specifically, it will allow UNICEF to:
•Scale technical capacity in response to increasing Country Office and government demand
•Rapidly mobilise expertise for time-sensitive programme, innovation, and financing needs
•Match specialized expertise to specific sectoral, regional, and country contexts
•Strengthen collaboration across the CoE, Country Offices, Regional Offices, headquarters divisions, and partners
•Ensure consistent, high-quality, and timely technical support |

| The Legal Affairs Specialist (TA) will give recommendations and advice on a wide range of organizational activities and interests, and concern, among other things, the interaction of UNICEF with governments and other key partners as well as on strategic initiatives across UNICEF. This support helps UNICEF to take advantage of opportunities as well as safeguard the organization from risk. The Legal Team aims to identify and mitigate exposure to potential liability and financial loss, to safeguard the ability of the organization to be accountable to its stakeholders, and to preserve credibility as well as funding from member states and other donors, both public and private. |

| UNICEF’s Operations Centre supports this mandate by providing 24/7 real-time global situational awareness and crisis communication, enabling risk-informed decision-making across the organization. By maintaining a continuous picture of emerging and evolving situations, OPSCEN enables UNICEF’s efforts to support children and families and serves as a vital communication bridge between Headquarters and field offices. This role is for professionals who are comfortable operating at the centre of a global organization. As an OPSCEN Associate, you will serve as a first point of contact for UNICEF personnel in the field and contribute to the team’s shared responsibility for maintaining situational awareness by ensuring the availability of real time data and reporting, in support of timely and coordinated action. Following its relocation from New York to Rome, OPSCEN is entering an exciting new phase, with a clear vision to strengthen its role as UNICEF’s global emergency operations and crisis communication service.
