Purpose of Internship:
With the transition of additional ICT services to DFAM and the planned decommissioning of all ICT equipment — including network and data center systems at 633 Third Ave— by 30 June 2026, a capacity gap is anticipated due to the expected reduced capacity within the IT help desk at the end of May 2026.
To address this gap, CSC NY Help Desk / DFAM is seeking a motivated and skilled ICT Associate to join the New York CSC IT Help Desk team. The selected candidate will integrate into the existing team and serve as a first point of contact for ICT customer support, particularly in matters related to the decommissioning of ICT equipment at 633 Third Avenue and update the inventory.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with equipment installation, moves, relocations, additions, and inventory management, including asset decommissioning in line with Property Survey Board procedures.
- Provide daily maintenance and troubleshooting for IT hardware, end-user devices, and local area network infrastructure, particularly for staff relocation activities.
- Deliver Help Desk services by responding to requests via Service Gateway, email, phone, and walk-ins, ensuring accurate ticket logging and documentation.
- Escalate and follow up on incidents when required, in accordance with established procedures, until full resolution.
- Maintain accurate inventory of Network and Datacenter equipment.
- Collaborate closely with the local IT Network team, IT Help Desk staff, the Data Center Senior ICT Associate, and staff relocating from 633 Third Avenue to 3 UN Plaza.

Minimum Requirements:
- Letter of verification from the college or university that the intern is currently enrolled in an undergraduate school and has completed at least two years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of an undergraduate degree (if the candidate is 18 years old, this replaces the two-year bachelor’s completion requirement); or, Graduate Degree Program (i.e., Master’s, PhD). It should also state the expected graduation date. Recent graduates are allowed until 2 years after degree completion.
- Copy of their most recent official transcript showing excellent academic performance
- Copy of Identification Card (ID)
- One letter of signed recommendation on letterhead or from professional email address
- Certification of health insurance covering the full internship period
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related ICT field
- Language: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset

- Operating systems: Windows 11
- Networking: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN/WIFI
- Microsoft Office suite: Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint, Ms Teams, Ms SharePoint, Ms Authenticator
- Excellent writing skills (in English)
