The Individual Giving section in the Division of Private Fundraising Partnership (PFP) based in Geneva is a lead participant in the Supporter Engagement Strategy (SES), which aims to increase the global acquisition and engagement of UNICEF’s diverse supporter base, including donors, advocates, and volunteers. 

The Global Giving Platform (GGP 2.0) is a project aimed at offering multiple UNICEF offices a cutting edge fundraising front-end solution that will offer the best possible experience for donors, thus improving Individual Giving fundraising performance across key indicators (i.e. acquisition, retention, etc.). The Supporter Engagement Strategy (SES) project involves the migration of all country offices and certain national committees using Salesforce technology to understand and connect to our donors to drive long term fundraising growth for children.

A Database Administrator is required to provide support on the management, governance and compliance of data for PFP’s own operation as well as providing fundraising markets with essential guidance, advice and support on data related matters. 

Working closely with the wider SES team, Data and Analytics team and Individual Giving’s virtual hub team, the Database Administrator will report to the Digital Delivery manager under the Individual Giving section of PFP.  

Systems under the scope of operation for this role include PFP’s fundraising ecommerce management system, known as the Global Giving Platform (GGP 2.0), and related systems such as:

  • Payment Service Providers (e.g. Stripe) 
  • Salesforce Sales and Marketing Cloud 
  • PowerBI and other data sources for analytics

How can you make a difference? 

To contribute to increasing UNICEF’s fundraising revenues and engagement, retention and long-term donor loyalty by helping to design, understand and analyze data flows as well supporting a global toolset by performing the following tasks: 

  • Provide local administration for data and IG’s own sytems (GGP 2.0, PowerBI etc) 
  • Provide GGP 2.0 support to markets on a prioritized basis and assist with wider support issues regarding data and integration with other systems. 
  • Monitor fundraising performance and data on a day-to-day basis, looking for opportunities to optimize / maximize results (for example identifying campaigns that are peaking in popularity to alert teams for further promotion).
  • Ensure that systems follow the correct principles and procedures of data governance and compliance. 
  • Continually monitor data integrations between systems, ensuring accuracy and work with stakeholders on correcting issues. 
  • Support in the continued upkeep and development of UNICEF’s global giving platform 2.0 and integrated data systems (payment gateways, CRMs, etc).
  • Ensure that the global online donation process is running smoothly by constantly testing new donation pages and procedures. 
  • Own the product backlog the GGP 2.0, capture, refine, and prioritize epics/features/stories across Foundation, Configuration, MVP and quarterly releases.
  • Elicit & validate requirements, work with UNICEF markets, ICTD, Analytics, SES, Legal/Privacy, and Finance to turn needs/requirements into testable outcomes.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Co-lead the GGP 2.0 Multi-year roadmap & MVP definition — release plan, product scope, and value milestones.
  • Help prioritize the backlog — epics/features/stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Support the market prioritization & rollout plan — country pipeline, gating criteria, and onboarding schedule.
  • Release plan & notes — feature flags, cutover steps, rollback criteria, and stakeholder comms.
  • Operating model — admin & editor guides, support model, onboarding checklists, RACI, decision log, and change log.
  • Ensure smooth operation of GGP 2.0, including related Payment Systems, PowerBI, etc.
  • Work with ICTD to resolve issues.
  • Maintain and manage a prioritised support ticket service for markets running the GGP 2.0.
  • Help coordinate external providers’ support for onboarding and responding to UNICEF staff requests.
  • Provide system administrator functions such as creating / deleting users and providing correct permissions on GGP 2.0 related systems in accordance with established governance framework.
  • Support Data and Insights projects and initiatives by assisting with data auditing, mapping and translation between systems.
  • Create and maintain appropriate system documentation.
  • Ensure operations carried out by GGP 2.0 are in accordance with established policies and procedures regarding data privacy, PCI-DSS and provide guidance to markets where required.

To qualify as a Champion for every child, you will have…

Education:

  • A first-level University Degree in one of the following fields: Information Management Technology, digital marketing - or another relevant technical field is required

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in ecommerce CMS and Reporting systems for fundraising is required.
  • Experience in supporting digital front-end and backend ecommerce solutions (i.e. CMSs, CRM, email marketing etc) for fundraising is required.
  • Experience of general data management processes (i.e. automation of financial data reports, develop criteria for data integration etc.) is required.
  • Experience in building business intelligence or performance reports is required.
  • Experience in large scale digital ecommerce fundraising operations (+5million USD annual revenue) for individuals is required.
  • Experience in integrating systems such as fundraising ecommerce CMS, Salesforce, Payment Systems and PowerBI within the UN context is an asset.
  • Digital product management experience, including supporting and delivering tools across multiple offices/countries with complex requirements is an asset.
  • Experience in digital product management, including working under project management methodologies, such as Agile, is required.
  • Experience with UN/UNICEF procurement processes is an asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is an asset.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.
