Youth and Education Programme Support (1 Month Each)

UNICEF Qatar office invites applications for two (2) internship opportunities that have arisen in its Programmes section as follows:
Internship Opportunity 1: Youth and Adolescents Programme Support
Section/Team: Youth & Adolescents
Duty Station: Doha, Qatar
Modality: Full-time
Duration: 1 month
Reporting to: Youth & Adolescents Development Manager
Context:
UNICEF supports adolescents and youth across all its programming globally through interventions that aim to build their agency, skills and participation in decision-making processes. In Qatar, UNICEF works closely with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, other national stakeholders and young people themselves to design, implement and scale impactful youth-centered programmes. These include initiatives that support the National Youth Policy, promote skills development, civic engagement, and participation in global platforms.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist in planning and coordinating youth engagement activities and campaigns.
- Support documentation and reporting for youth-related events and initiatives.
- Contribute to content creation (presentations, briefs, reports, summaries).
- Support coordination for Qatar’s youth participation in international platforms and forums.
Internship Opportunity 2: Education Programme Support
Section/Team: Education
Duty Station: Doha, Qatar
Modality: Full-time
Duration: 1 month
Reporting to: Education Programme Manager
Context:
UNICEF collaborates with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in implementing a joint local workplan that focusses on strengthening the education system. Some of the interventions include the development of an inclusive education framework, development of an early learning framework, roll out of the Child Friendly Cities Initiative and training of teachers. UNICEF also works with local Qatar based partners and stakeholders in addressing the plight of out of school children in different parts of the world. This includes specific projects promoting access to learning for disadvantaged children as well as advocacy around the issue of out-of-school children.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Support Education program implementation in liaison with the Qatar national Commission and other Ministry of Education and Higher Education departments and local partners
- Maintain contact with relevant local partners, following up on agreed workplan activities.
- Participate in programme meetings and maintaining a record of proceedings.
- Contribute to the conceptualization of effective tools for programme monitoring and tracking.
- Contribute to regular and adhoc office programme reports.
Eligibility Requirements (Applicable to Both Internships):
- Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate programme relevant to the above two areas or have graduated within the past two years.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Demonstrated interest in children’s programmes and social development.
- Qatari citizenship required.
Application Requirements:
- Verification letter from university stating current enrolment or recent graduation (within 2 years) and expected graduation date (if applicable).
- One academic recommendation letter.
- Language proficiency in Arabic and English.
