How can you make a difference? 

Under the supervision of the Advocacy & Communication Specialist, to coordinate the production of and write a ‘2024 Annual Report highlights’ leaflet for use in resource mobilization and advocacy.

WORK ASSIGMENT:

  1. Prepare and submit the first draft of the TLCO annual report for external audience
  2. Prepare and submit the second draft of the TLCO annual report for external audience
  3. Prepare and submit first draft of the TLCO laid out report
  4. Prepare and submit 2nd draft of the TLCO laid out report
  5. Prepare and submit the final TLCO annual report for external audience

  1. Submitted draft report
  2. Submitted 2nd draft for sign off on text
  3. Draft layout version
  4. Submitted 2nd draft for sign off
  5. Laid out final document, which includes a print ready version and a web version

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • Master’s degree in communication, journalism, international development or a related field
  • 5 years progressive work experience in similar assignments, at the international level
  • Excellent command of the English language with high quality oral and written communication skills, including proven ability to conceptualize, analyze and articulate ideas in writing for all types of media and audiences
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with little supervision, both independently and with a multicultural team.
  • Proficiency in design layout and use of design software.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with the UNICEF programmes, writing styles and brand guidelines.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
