Advert: Individual Consultant (Maldivian national) to Provide Photography Services for UNICEF Maldives Programme Areas and Events.

UNICEF Maldives Country Office is working towards strengthening our advocacy and communications In line with the UNICEF Maldives Country Programme Document for 2022 – 2026, the new UNICEF Global  Communications and Advocacy Strategy, and the  regional and country priorities, with a specific focus on the 8 Flagship Programmes; Positive Parenting, Mental Health and Preventing Substance Abuse, Climate Smart and Resilient  Actions, Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyles, Caring Island Communities IBAMA, Violence Against Children (VAC), Youth Engagement and Development, and Education and Learning.

In this regard, to support visibility of key highlights and results of UNICEF Maldives’ programme areas, coverage of events and initiatives under the programme areas, and for use in digital, web and printed communication and advocacy materials aimed to strategically position children’s rights, UNICEF Maldives Country Office is currently seeking to hire an individual to provide professional photography services.

How can you make a difference? 

1. To ensure professional photographic coverage of UNICEF Maldives supported initiatives and events in 2025.
2. To provide professional photographic coverage in line with UNICEF Maldives’ advocacy and programme priority areas and the 8 flagship programmes by capturing everyday voices of children, adolescents, young people and their families that can be used in digital, web and print content such as social media, newsletters, banners, backdrops etc.

To qualify you will have…

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in providing photography and editing services
• Have completed a specialized education in photography
• Demonstrated experience in dealing with UN Agencies and other international development organizations

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and advance to the next stage of the selection process. 

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
