How can you make a difference?
The PME unit in UNICEF Eritrea supports the GoSE-UNICEF country programme (2022-2026) by planning, monitoring, and evaluating results. This includes annual reviews, risk assessments, and technical support for management plans. The PME Specialist leads data analysis, SDG monitoring, and provides technical support to the Government and UN interagency group. UNICEF Eritrea is looking for young talents to join the PME unit under the Deputy Representative (programme) office to promote children's rights through planning, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
Under the overall guidance of the PME Specialist the PME Internee supports in following key areas:
Programme Monitoring and Evaluation; Programme Performance Monitoring:
Provide technical support to ensure that the Country Office has quality information to assess progress towards expected results established in annual work plans; Participate in and support office mid-year / end-year and mid-term reviews; Undertake quality assurance and streamlining of monitoring plans; Support real-time and other monitoring initiatives of sections as per the monitoring plans; Update IMERP.
Corporate Reporting: Support PME Specialist in the bi-annual RAM reporting exercise and contribute to development, consolidation and quality assurance on end- year corporate reporting processes including CSIs and COARs;
Programme Planning: Support PME Specialist to review annual work plans including inputs into guidance notes and capacity building initiatives.
Results based management: Support PME Specialist to build capacities of UNICE staff and external partners (where relevant) on RBM with a focus on monitoring and reporting.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Education: university degree in Social Sciences, Development Planning, Planning, Evaluation, Advanced Statistical Research or related fields.
- Work Experience: two years of practical experience relevant to programme development and implementation including monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities.
- Fluency in English and the local language are required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
