Objective:
Given the increasing need to maintain high levels of standards of multi-media assets produced and disseminated by UNICEF Egypt, it is important to work with graphic designers of high caliber who have a wide range of expertise and are readily available to respond to requests, sometimes at short notice to work from scratch to format and design key multi-media materials including knowledge management and advocacy products. Therefore, to achieve cost efficiency, timeliness, and quality of services, UNICEF Egypt wishes to enter into Long Term Agreement (LTA) with multiple, qualified and experienced graphic designers who have the capacity to ensure timely, quality graphic design services.
The use of the LTA for this service not only allows for shorter processing and procurement time but also facilitates expeditious delivery of finished product to the end user.
Methodology:
Duties will entail delivering the below, but not limited to, mentioned tasks within the agreed timeframe as per each assignment.
Scope of work for Graphic Design services:
- Provide a creative concept containing creative ideas, as well as advice on how the design concept best serves the content and type of material being produced. Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, electronic, web-based design and layout of reports and other products.
- Provide realistic production deadline that can be followed from concept to final product development.
- Design and create visual art products of various kinds, including single, multi-page layouts incorporating text, animation/gif, photographs and illustrations/infographics.
- Design and layout of information products, develop characters, digital art works, infographics for publications using a creative approach and in compliance with the target audience’s readability and usability.
- Digital and print brochures, thematic infographics, programme or thematic factsheets, leaflets, posters, visuals for social media campaigns, layout design for project reports, policy briefs, strategies, publications, survey findings, infographics, reports, newsletters, posters, flyers, factsheets, factographs, storybooks, manuals, flipcharts, presentations, posters, social media graphics, GIFs, data visualization and visibility items like signposts, stickers, t-shirts, aprons among others.
- To adapt compelling UNICEF global and other entities’ content into the local context.
- Produce final version ready to be formatted and uploaded for multiple platforms including print, website and social media, depending on the specific needs.
- Produce graphic design packages following UNICEF publications, digital and style-book guidelines.
- For assets specific to UNICEF, the UNICEF brand book and UNICEF publications guidelines must be followed while for those jointly produced by UNICEF and its partners, relevant and joint brand guidelines must be adhered to.
UNICEF will be responsible for the following:
-Provide the details and concepts of the products
-Provide timely feedback and approval on samples
-Share relevant branding and design guidelines and requirements.

-Transforming text-based communications materials into visual graphic design materials such as, but not limited to, infographics, brochures, flyers, social media designs, reports, etc. -Develop visual designs for communication materials based on the assignment’s brief and following UNICEF’s branding guidelines and look and feel. -Create visual designs for events communications collaterals such as: roll-ups, notebooks, backdrop, banners, t-shirts/caps, invitations, cards, calendars, etc. -For print publications, deliver print-ready PDF files with printer marks for offset printing and PDF without printer bleed marks for online use in manageable file size. -For digital designs, deliver final designs in high resolution and rendered as per standard social media channel specifications. -Provide recommendations on the best and most relevant visual design style and materials suitable for each assignment’s target audience. -Liaise with UNICEF Egypt’s External Communications section regarding any visual design work, starting from the idea phase to the execution phase. |

Conditions of work:
Consultants should conduct all work independently, in accordance with professional standards. This includes working from their own office space and using their own hardware and software equipment.

ESTIMATED DURATION OF LTA:
The assignment, under this Long-Term Agreement (On Call) Contract, is expected to have a duration of two years. The initial agreement would be for two years (2025-2027) with an option for renewal in subsequent years upon satisfactory performance evaluation.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
-BA in Communication, fine arts/digital art and/or multimedia design, journalism, communication or related fields or any other relevant field
-Minimum three years of professional experience of graphic design.
-Excellent skills in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After effects and other graphic design software.
-Strong graphic design portfolio demonstrating breadth, creativity, and craftsmanship.
-Proven experience in infographic, illustrations, animations design work.
-Ability to deliver designs on time, according to the specified quality and technical requirements of each task as per the guidelines for UNICEF Egypt.
-The ability to animate vectors with any software will be an asset.
-Excellent creativity and innovation.
-Proven ability to creatively ideate and transform complex information and messages into fresh, audience-oriented, and visually arresting images/graphic designs that are intuitive and easy to read.
-Experience working with international organizations/media is an asset.
-Excellent English and Arabic speaking and writing.

Vendors must send their financial proposal in EGP.
The prices submitted in EGP will be fixed for the duration of the contract. Should a devaluation of the currency that leads to 25% loss in the Egyptian pound value occur, you can request a revisit to the rates.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
