Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

How can you make a difference?

The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) presents a unique opportunity for UNICEF to advance its strategic advocacy, partnership, and resource mobilization goals. PPD will lead and coordinate institutional engagement in close partnership with the Office of the Executive Director (OED) and other divisions. To ensure efficient and coherent execution of UNICEF’s UNGA-related activities, PPD seeks a dedicated UNGA Coordinating Officer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of UNICEF’s institutional engagement throughout the high-level week (23–29 September 2025) and the broader UNGA80 period.

The officer will support PPD in managing workflows, tracking engagement requests, coordinating internal inputs, and ensuring timely follow-up and documentation in accordance with established UNGA protocols and the institutional coordination structure.

Scope of Work:

Under the supervision of the PPD UNGA Coordinator, the UNGA Coordinating Officer will be responsible for the following:

  • Support the coordination and tracking of all UNICEF-hosted events, external invitations, and bilateral meeting requests during the UNGA execution phase (July–September), ensuring alignment with institutional criteria and strategic priorities.
  • Liaise with focal points across UNICEF divisions, regional offices, and OED to consolidate requests and follow-up documentation.
  • Assist in the organization and facilitation of regular coordination meetings (Operational Group and Core Group), including preparation of agendas, note-taking, and follow-up actions.
Workflow and Documentation Management
  • Ensure all proposals and requests comply with the workflows outlined in the UNGA guidance note.
  • Support the timely submission and review of concept notes, briefing materials, and talking points, ensuring quality control and the use of official UNGA templates.
  • Maintain a centralized tracking system for all requests, including real-time updates to the institutional calendar (Roundhouse) and status of submissions.
Logistical and Operational Support
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for events hosted by PPD or in collaboration with partners, including room bookings, AV support, RSVPs, and materials preparation.
  • Support planning and execution of events or meetings involving high-level participation, including Heads of State, UN principals, donors, and key partners.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Communications and Advocacy Division (DGCA), the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP), and relevant UNICEF teams to ensure integrated messaging and visibility.
During High-Level Week (23–29 September)
  • Provide real-time coordination support for the PPD UNGA Coordinator and OED counterparts during High-Level Week, including tracking last-minute requests and updates.
  • Support the deployment of the PPD UNGA mobilization model, including after-hours availability and rapid coordination across divisions.
  • Assist with real-time documentation needs, protocol matters, and strategic troubleshooting during the week.
