The Senior Leadership Support (SLS) Team provides executive support to the senior leaders of UNICEF through four main pillars: talent acquisition, succession planning, inter agency and high-performance team support. The SLS team works closely with other teams in the Division of People and Culture (DPC), as well as Regional Chiefs and the global HR community. Due to the increased volume of work leading up to the launch of the Senior Staff Rotation and Re-assignment exercise, the Senior Leadership Support (SLS) team is seeking a dynamic People and Culture Officer (P-2 level) join the team on a temporary appointment for 364 days. The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of our new global delivery strategies, while providing executive support to senior leaders within UNICEF. He/she will play a key role in talent acquisition and succession planning for senior leadership positions with specific focus on Deputy Representative portfolio, fostering collaboration across the team to ensure high performance. The HR Officer will execute HR services through applying knowledge of theoretical HR models, as well as understanding of organizational HR policies and procedures. The HR Officer will promote equity, transparency and consistency in the interpretation, determination, implementation and administration of HR policy, procedures and guidelines on all HR related matters applicable to staff.
Purpose of the Job
UNICEF is seeking a dynamic and innovative People and Culture (P&C) Officer to provide strategic and operational support across key areas of talent acquisition, succession planning, and senior leadership recruitment. This role will serve as the focal point for Deputy Representative positions, coordinating end-to-end hiring processes and building strong leadership pipelines. The People and Culture Officer will also serve as a trusted business partner to key HQ offices—Office of Executive Director (OED), Office of the Secretary of the Executive Board (OSEB), Office of Internal Audit and Investigations (OIAI), and Ethics—advising on talent management, career development, and performance matters with a strong client-oriented approach. The role contributes to organizational priorities around diversity, equity, and inclusion while ensuring compliance with P&C policies and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent will help drive strategic P&C initiatives and process improvements through data analysis, policy input, and stakeholder engagement across HQ, Regional, and Country Offices.

- Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Human Movement, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, International Studies, Psychology, Social Science, Business Management, International Relations, Psychology, Social Science and any other related fields.
- Work Experience: At Least 2 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources , Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Succession Planning, Leadership Development, Business Partnering, Strategic HR, HR Data Analytics, Recruitment Process, Performance Management, HR Policy.
- Skills: HR information systems, Project management, Executive staff support, Analytical skills, Stakeholder Management, Confidentiality
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.
