For every child, Nutrition
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, through the Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) in collaboration with development partners, is finalizing the Micronutrient Survey (MNS) which is a component of the Tanzania Demographic and Health Survey/ Malaria Indicator Survey (TDHS/MIS) 2022 . The MNS includes an expanded set of micronutrient biomarkers assessments among women of reproductive age (WRA) and children under the age of five years – including Iron, vitamin A, vitamin D, folate, vitamin B12, and inflammatory markers; and at the population level, an assessment of the coverage of fortified foods (salt, edible oil, wheat, and maize flour). The MNS will provide critical data to inform national strategies, policy decisions, and programmatic interventions to prevent and reduce micronutrient deficiencies.
To ensure the completion and dissemination of high-quality outputs, UNICEF seeks a qualified consultant to support the finalization of key data analysis, and revision of draft report according to stakeholders’ recommendations and in line with international standards.
