Purpose of the activity/ assignment:
The Digital Engagement Consultant will support the development and implementation of a digital engagement strategy that leverages mobile, web, and social media platforms to promote positive behavior change. The consultant will ensure content and platforms are aligned with SBC principles, based on evidence, and effectively reach the intended audience.
Objectives
- Design and implement digital engagement strategies that support SBC goals.
- Support content development and digital campaigns across platforms (e.g., social media, messaging apps, web portals).
- Strengthen capacity for digital SBC programming within the organization and partners.
- Monitor and analyse digital engagement metrics to optimize reach and impact.
Scope of Work
- Digital SBC Strategy Development
- Conduct a landscape analysis of current digital SBC initiatives and platforms. Considering the existing complex situation in Myanmar, analyse different target audiences to create compelling content to meets information needs.
- Develop a digital engagement strategy aligned with the organization’s SBC objectives and
- audience insights.
- Identify innovative tools and platforms for digital SBC outreach.
- Content Development and Campaigns
- Support the creation of engaging, culturally appropriate digital content (e.g., infographics, videos, interactive media).
- Design and manage digital campaigns, in collaboration with SBC and program teams.
- Support roll out of SBC Digital Outputs
- Develop and maintain a content calendar for UNICEF's SBC Digital Engagement and collaborate with thematic technical focal points to ensure timely and relevant content creation.
- Collaborate with graphic designers and thematic technical focal points to develop engaging social media content packages, including audio-video clips, GIF animated files, infographics, stories, photo essays, etc., aligned with UNICEF's SBC priorities.
- Assist in public awareness-raising campaigns and behaviour and social change communication activities, covering various areas such as emergency response, routine immunization, maternal and child health, WASH, education, protection, and COVID-19 public vaccination, and seek technical clearance from respective sections/units of UNICEF for the developed content.
- Implement strategies to increase the number of followers and subscribers across all UNICEF Digital Engagement platforms.
- Ensuring Cultural Appropriateness
- Ensure content language resonates with target group, its accurate, easy to read, logical flow, and engaging without requiring further editing.
- Proofread all content, including spelling checks, technical terms, acronyms, references and style consistency.
- Translate from Myanmar to English and vice versa as necessary for all social media contents and feedback from users.
- Be flexible for several rounds of editing, if needed, and remain available for feedback and inputs as per the office's requirement
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for SBC digital engagement
- Use analytics and user feedback to review posts on digital platforms monitor and identify rumours, myths, and concerns circulating on social media, and deliver a comprehensive 8-10-slide analytical PowerPoint report weekly summarizing the findings.
- Regularly collect and analyse data from UNICEF social media platforms on a weekly and monthly basis, utilizing social media reporting tools to assess audience reach and engagement with UNICEF's content to inform adaptive management of digital content and strategy.
- Prepare regular reports on digital SBC performance, reach, and impact highlighting key insights, achievements, and challenges.
- Liaise with external partners, digital agencies, and content creators and share relevant information related to SBC strategy and interventions.
- Capacity Building, Partnerships, and Enhancing Communications and Reach
- Organize training sessions to staff and implementing partners on digital SBC approaches, tools, and best practices. for routine immunization, COVID vaccination, maternal and child health, nutrition, water sanitation, education, and protection.
- Develop toolkits and guidance for sustainable digital engagement efforts to leverage digital platforms for impactful communication and behaviour change.
- Support and collaborate in the creation of periodical polls aimed at gathering insights from the users to improve the contents of the social platforms as well as to collect community’s voices for SBC program.
- Participate in internal and external meetings and events as required to promote SBC’s digital engagement efforts

Duty Station: Remote, Home-based with a few travels to Nay Pyi Taw and UNICEF field offices as needed

Tasks:
Develop Digital SBC strategy document with actionable implementation plan
Prepare social media weekly report for presentation in RCCE meeting
Compile and analyse the data from Viber Channel and produce monthly data analysis report
Contribute to different SBC reports, including Sitrep and RAM reports
Monitor the contents and public engagements of Viber, Facebook and other social media channels and provide advice and suggestion to SBC team as necessary
Produce quarterly report for Nutrition, RI, MNCH, Emergency, Education, CP, SPCRM, and WASH
Coordinate with Graphic designers, APC unit, SBC unit, and Viber Team for developing and managing social media contents
Daily monitoring for SMU (RCCE) in the Excel template
Develop and manage the Viber Chatbot and sticker pack in collaboration with external collaborators and SBC unit on a regular basis
Prepare Viber content calendar and marketing plan in collaboration with SBC and other stakeholders
Provide trainings in relation to new socia media innovations and analysis on Thuta Viber Channel
Support in writing the contents for Facebook media announcement, and prepare media announcement plan for Facebook and Viber
Create polls, manage reward campaigns, and provide social media technical and operational support to SBC as required
Conduct daily social media monitoring for emergency and disease outbreak and share with SBC section and relevant program sections for necessary action.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
Bachelor degree in social science, international affairs, marketing or communication, journalism or other related areas.
Work Experience:
SBC professional with at least (3) years of work experience in implementing social media strategies for UN or non-profit organizations
At least (3) years of experience working on social media, digital marketing or editorial for an NGO, global company or publishing outlet.
Experience in implementing social media strategies for non-profit organizations and/or private sector companies and tracking their success and analyzing results is essential.
Experience in working for the UN, UNICEF or withInternational NGOs or global organisations is an asset.
Skills:
Proficiency in digital analytics tools (e.g., Meta Insights, Google Analytics, etc).
Strong skills in working with people and multitasking to handle multiple social media platforms and prioritizing messages for multiple audiences, including experience in managing the web.
High ethical standards and understanding of complex working environments pertaining to child-related/rights issues.
Ability to research, design and execute ideas and ability to transfer knowledge and skills.
Excellent teamwork skills (self-starter an asset);
Language Requirements: High command of English and Burmese.
