How can you make a difference?
UNICEF GSSC is looking for a dynamic and experienced VISION Roles Review consultant who will support the project team in reviewing the existing roles and transactions in VISION SAP, as well as recommend cleanup and/or redesign of critical VISION roles. The consultant will contribute to:
- Review and clean-up existing role assignments: Eliminate unnecessary or outdated roles, ensuring that roles are aligned with current operational needs and risk profiles.
- Propose roles standardization tailored to functions and size and complexity of offices.
- Enhance role clarity for end-users and reduce access risks.
The assignment is anticipated to be performed remotely.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Review and analyze existing role assignments as per the below methodology:
- Structured interviews: Conduct interviews with different stakeholders in DFAM, HR, Finance, Programme, Supply, ICTD and GSSC to understand challenges and potential areas of improvement.
- Data collection and sampling: Gather and analyze system data to identify patterns and issues.
- System analysis and workshop presentation: Perform a thorough system analysis and present findings in a workshop setting.
Based on the findings, the consultant will prepare a prioritized action plan including:
- Access cleanup: Provide a detailed list of roles and timelines for the cleanup process.
- Role redesign: Redesign priority roles with a focus on data privacy and integrity.
- Governance improvements: Suggest improvements to governance structures to ensure better role management.
- Training or capacity-building recommendations.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Completed secondary education (i.e. high school diploma) is required. Relevant professional certificate is an asset.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in SAP ERP systems (preferably UNICEF’s VISION) and role management.
- Strong data management skills—profiling, cleansing, migration.
- ERP process optimization and business process mapping.
- Credible references from past similar projects.
- Fluency in English (Oral and Written) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
