For every child, the right to hope 

UNISON is UNICEF’s Salesforce-based partnership management CRM system. UNISON is accessed by over 160 offices worldwide and is used to coordinate and collaborate on donor engagement; manage donor relationships and funding pipelines; and to make data-driven decisions on donor strategy. The system was put in place in 2015 but has been more fully maximized and adapted to global user needs over the last four years. Legacy data and fields must be cleaned up and rationalized and donor adoption enhanced through refined analytics.

This consultancy will support UNICEF’s global partnerships and fundraising community and the wider organization by leveraging UNISON (Salesforce) data to deliver actionable insights, optimize partner engagement strategies, set measurable KPIs, and enhance reporting capabilities.

How can you make a difference? 

Scope of Work: 

Under the supervision of the Business Analyses Manager, UNISON, the Data Analyst Consultant will support global Partnerships colleagues in HQ, Country and Regional Offices and UNICEF National Committees by leveraging Salesforce data to deliver actionable insights, optimize partner engagement, and enhance reporting capabilities. This includes managing and analyzing partnership data, developing dashboards and reports, identifying trends and opportunities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data processes and decision-making. The consultant will also ensure data integrity, automate reporting workflows, and provide strategic recommendations to drive partnership performance. 

The consultant will demonstrate strong ability to self-manage priorities and be able to collaborate effectively with business teams to contribute to the adoption of UNISON through data insights and enhancements. 

The consultant will be responsible for the following: 

  • Extract, clean and analyse data from UNISON related to users, partner accounts, opportunities, and engagement activities; 

  • Perform monthly audits to identify and correct data inconsistencies or gaps; 

  • Maintain and enhance existing dynamic Regional Salesforce / Power BI dashboards and develop new dashboards for newly merged Regions to track KPIs, pipeline health and partner performance. Ensure these reports/dashboards are sound and published monthly; 

  • Work with partnerships teams to develop team partner engagement metrics and dashboards; 

  • Maintain data needed for reports including linking UNISON to other inhouse data sources; 

  • Verify data flows for automated recurring reports and provide ad hoc analysis as needed; 

  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in partnership data to inform strategic decisions and suggest best practices for Salesforce data tracking and reporting; 

  • Provide training and/or learning documentation to end-users on UNISON and Power Bi reports, dashboards and data best practices; 

  • Recommend improvements to Salesforce workflows, data structures, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and usability in the form of documentation and reporting standards. 

  • Document the implemented process for data management. 

Work Assignment and Deliverables: 

UNISON (Salesforce) data management and analysis, reporting and dashboard development deliverables: 

  • Provide monthly progress report on implementation of plans versus KPIs 

  • Perform monthly audits 

  • Develop set of reports and dashboards for HQ and Natcom fundraising teams on a monthly basis 

  • Create, maintain and enhance dynamic Regional Salesforce and Power BI dashboards to be delivered on a monthly basis or as needed. 

Process optimization 

  • Submit a recommendation on process improvements by 30 Nov 2026 or earlier  

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements:

Education:
• An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: data analytics, management information systems, statistics, computer science, business administration, information technology management, or other related field.
• Alternatively, a first university degree combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
 
Experience:
• Advanced Salesforce certification is required, or minimum three years' experience in a Salesforce admin role for an organization of 400+ users.
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience within a large, global organization, preferably with a fundraising domain, is required in the following: data cleaning and preparation; data analysis and exploration, including statistical methods and using statistical software or data analysis languages; large database management; creating dashboards and reports; proficiency with data visualization tools, preferably Power BI.
• Proven experience at the professional level in a Data Analyst function is required.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral, are required.
• Prior experience with large NGO or UN organization is an asset.
• Can communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, as well as effectively translate business needs to technical experts.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical professionals.
 
Language:
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

Remarks:  

Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees against the deliverables listed above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.

Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and advance to the next stage of the selection process. 

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
