How can you make a difference?
Under the supervision of the Nutrition Manager and in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MoH), to support the development of a comprehensive operational and technical manual for the Nutrition Power BI Dashboard and to advance the digitalization of ITP supervision checklists for seamless data flow into the dashboard.
PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT:
• To develop a comprehensive and standardized Operational and Technical Manual for the Nutrition Power BI Dashboard, consolidating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical definitions, and user guidance to ensure sustainable, consistent, and effective management and periodic updates of the dashboard.
• To advance the digitalization of checklists for ITP supportive supervision and facilitate the integration of collected data into the Nutrition Power BI Dashboard, enhancing data quality, accessibility, and real-time analysis.
WORK ASSIGNMENT:
- Develop Technical Specifications (Ch. 5) – e.g., Document data sources, key indicators, formulas, transformation rules, Power Query / DAX references, and file structures.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (Ch. 4) – e.g., define workflows, validation steps, versioning, publication, and troubleshooting protocols.
- Draft Foundational Sections (Ch. 1–3) – e.g., Summarize manual purpose, roles / responsibilities, and overall dashboard overview.
- Integrate Dashboard Update Procedure (Ch. 6) – e.g., Incorporate finalized steps for data download, refresh, publishing, verification, and sign-off.
- Finalize and Handover – e.g., Address UNICEF feedback, standardize format, obtain endorsement, and conduct orientation session.
- Conduct a workshop for DPHOs to build their capacity in using tablets and performing data entry.
- Design and develop a digitalized check list.
- Integrate the newly collected data into the Nutrition dashboard.
- Add new page for monitoring Supportive Supervision.

- Draft Dashboard Operation Manual – Part I (Ch. 5) Comprehensive technical documentation and indicator definitions.
- Draft Dashboard Operation Manual – Part II (Ch. 4) Detailed operational procedures for dashboard maintenance.
- Draft Dashboard Operation Manual – Part III (Ch. 1–3).
- Dashboard Operation Manual – Full Draft (Ch. 1–6).
- Final Dashboard Operation Manual (v1.0) related passwords.
- Training Material for DPHO.
- A functional and validated data entry form on Kobo Platform.
- Updated Nutrition dashboard incorporating new data sources and refreshed visuals.
- Updated Nutrition dashboard incorporating new data sources and refreshed visuals, and submission of all related materials and tools.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Master’s degree in public health, health/nutrition Information Systems, data science, Information Technology, computer science, economics or other related field or related fields with at least 5 years of experience in data analysis and data visualization

Relevant experience with managing digital health or nutrition data systems; designing and implementing data dashboards (preferably using Power BI or similar platforms); and digitalization of data collection tools and integration with existing systems

Proven experience in technical documentation, including drafting operation manuals, SOPs, and update guidelines for digital platforms.

Ability to work independently and to take initiative and ownership of the task

Understanding of nutrition indicators and health information systems.

Excellent skills in data integration, visualization, and quality assurance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
