The Office of Strategy & Evidence (OSE) - Innocenti provides leadership across UNICEF and is accountable for – among others – the areas of data, research and evidence generation, foresight, knowledge, and assure development effectiveness through strategic planning, monitoring and results & risk management.
By integrating data generation and use, research and foresight with programme effectiveness, OSE informs and strengthens the acceleration of progress towards SDGs, delivery of the Strategic Plan’s results for children at country level, contributes to thought leadership, and helps anticipate emerging challenges, thus, making sure that Country Programmes are informed and respond to national priorities for children according to different contexts, including humanitarian.
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director (Programme Effectiveness), and with a dotted line to the Deputy Director (Chief Statistician), the Executive Assistant is accountable for communications, operations and administrative support services to enhance the smooth running of the supervisor’s day-to-day activities. Executive Assistants also represent the supervisor in initiating, following up on and resolving issues pertaining to administrative requests.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.
- Work Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience is required.
- Skills:
- Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- Knowledge of integrated management information systems is required.
- Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures.
- Organizational, planning and prioritizing skills and abilities.
- Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with visitors.
- High sense of confidentiality, initiative and good judgment.
- Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural background.
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals and to provide guidance to more junior support staff.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.
Desirables:
- Fluency in Italian is considered a strong asset.
- Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is desirable.
- Experience with UN system.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF.
