How can you make a difference?

The consultant will make the following editions:

1.Check for and correct redundancies, spelling, or grammar mistakes, improve the language.

2. Proofread the overall report to ensure that the content is relevant and clearly understandable to external audience and adjust where necessary.

3. Check for coherence amongst Programme components throughout the document, including statistical data used.

4. Ensure full compliance with the 2026 COAR Instructions.

5. Editing and proofreading all content to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency with UNICEF’s style guidelines.

       QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE/ COMPETENCIES (CORE/TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL) / LANGUAGE SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ASSIGNMENT  

 

Minimum Qualifications required:Masters.Master degree ( BAC+5) in Communication, Social Sciences, development studies, or other relevant fields.

 

Years of Experience/ Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

 

Work Experience:

▪ At least 5 years of proven relevant experience in the field of professional English and French writing, editing of national and international development reports.

▪ Previous annual reports writing experience, particularly UNICEF reports, will be considered as an asset.

▪ Sound knowledge and skills on results-based reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

▪ Demonstrated experience in working with UNICEF would be an asset.

▪ Capacity to work under pressure and deliver quality inputs to meet deadlines.

Language Requirements:French and English.

 

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills:

  • Excellent report writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and compelling narratives.
  • Demonstrated experience in results-based reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to review and validate quantitative and qualitative data for accuracy, consistency, and coherence.
  • Strong understanding of Results-Based Management (RBM) principles and UNICEF programming frameworks.
  • Proven ability to transform technical programme content into audience-friendly communication products.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including document formatting, editing, track changes, and document quality control.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

Desirables:

  • Strong understanding of UNICEF programming, child rights, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Familiarity with UNICEF Country Office Annual Reporting (COAR) processes and reporting requirements is highly desirable.
