UNICEF Mozambique is in search of a dedicated and proactive national Consultant to be stationed in the National Institute of Social Action who will support INAS in the processes of implementing the Beneficiary Management Information System (e-INAS/SIB), in the corrective and preventive maintenance of the IT park, among other activities related to the area of information and communication technologies. As INAS, IP employees use technological equipment and resources to carry out their activities. As such, service and technical support for users, as well as maintenance of IT equipment, are essential for the continuity of institutional activities. The small number of IT technicians in the institution (Central Body) and the absence of these professionals at local level make it difficult to adequately attend to the various processes underway. They also have a negative impact on meeting the deadlines set for planned activities.
In this context, the hiring of an IT technician will boost the implementation of the Beneficiary Management Information System, guaranteeing compliance with the provisions of ‘Axis 4 - Institutional Development’, point b), regarding the ‘scope for strengthening operational management’ of the ENSSB. The technician will directly report to the Head of the Information, Communication and Image Technologies.
As a founding member of GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, and in alignment with both the Immunization Agenda 2030 and the UNICEF Gender Action Plan (2026–2029), UNICEF is intensifying its efforts to integrate gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls throughout its immunization and health programming.
To support this initiative, UNICEF is establishing a dedicated team of consultants to strengthen capacity, provide specialized and sustained expertise, and offer help-desk support to UNICEF country offices and partners.
The selected consultants will be tasked with delivering targeted, context-specific support for gender in immunization country programming, monitoring, and advocacy. They will also contribute to building collective knowledge by systematically capturing experiences and best practices from gender-focused immunization and health initiatives undertaken by UNICEF and its partners
Under the supervision of a Contracts Specialist from the Digital Supply Unit, the Senior Consultant will lead and advise on large-scale procurement initiatives for Internet connectivity and associated services for schools and healthcare centres, primarily for the African continent, in compliance with Giga’s technical requirements and local country’s expectations. This role requires a strategic thinker and execution-oriented professional with deep knowledge of the public procurement lifecycle, connectivity service specifics and challenges, vendor negotiation, and compliance with regional and international procurement standards.
