The Governance Team Unit, under the direction of the Chief, Governance, is responsible for supporting the NCR Section’s role and leads in the areas of the UNICEF - National Committee partnership framework and cooperation agreement, nonprofit governance, and (child) safeguarding in the PFP private sector and National Committee context, working in close partnership and collaboration with senior internal and external stakeholders, in particular with senior management and National Committee boards.
Purpose of Activity/Assignment:
To advance the evidence-generation activities of UNICEF Afghanistan through the implementation of communication and dissemination plans for evaluations, administrative coordination efforts, and technical reviews. This includes the formulation of the Evaluation Terms of Refence, recruitment of qualified teams of consultants/firms, arranging key informant interviews, and other administrative and coordination efforts. The consultancy is also expected to review key evaluation deliverables and provide technical comments, implement the monthly updates of the integrated monitoring, evaluation, and research plan (IMERP) and UNICEF’s EISI system.
The Deputy Representative reports to the Country Office (CO) Representative for general supervision and direction. The Deputy Representative supports the Representative on the overall management of the CO and for coordinating closely with the different programme sections on all phases of the Country Office Programme, from formulation to delivery of results in accordance with UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance and accountability framework, ethics, and integrity.
The Deputy Representative supports the Representative in leading and leveraging partnerships with both public and private sectors for the achievement of results and fulfilment of the rights of children.
