The intern will support the WASH team in operational and coordination activities, with a focus on proposal editing, reporting, supply tracking, and interagency engagement. WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) refers to the essential services that ensure access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene, which are critical for public health and child well-being. The role does not include programme design or development, but will contribute to specific activities such as preparation for interagency trainings, including logistics and coordination.
The support provided by the WASH and climate officer will enable the country office to achieve the WASH- and climate-related output results of the country programme. This, in turn, will contribute to the achievement of the outcome results of the country programme document. When done effectively, the achievement of the outcome results will improve child survival, growth and development, and reduce inequalities in the country.
Under the guidance of the WASH Specialist and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Department of Environmental Health, the consultant will:
Develop a comprehensive, evidence-based National Strategy and Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality and Water Quality Surveillance (WQS) in Lesotho, strengthening the capacity of the MoH EHD to lead independent public health surveillance across all water supply systems, in alignment with national decentralization processes and WHO guidelines.
UNICEF Papua New Guinea is looking for international consultants to write a wide range of content, including reports, articles, 1-2 pagers, brochures, case studies, fact sheets and other products to engage audiences in child rights and UNICEF’s work for children.
