UNICEF Jordan country Office is seeking to hire a consultant to conduct a secondary analysis using 2023 Jordan Population and Family Health Survey (DHS) data, focusing on child-related indicators and outcomes, and to produce a comprehensive report on the findings.
Under the supervision of an Education Program Officer, the consultant is expected to carry out deliverables supporting the work of officers in the management, execution, and monitoring of the Connected Territories project and the Giga initiative in Brazil.
To promote the expansion of connectivity in schools, regarding the Giga initiative, the consultant will deliver data reports to support the monitoring of the activities developed by the global team monthly at the request of UNICEF Brazil, as well as support the Brazilian office in customizing some ongoing Giga tools, like the Giga Maps, that shows the status of schools connectivity across Brazil, with national data, and provide technical support in dialogues with the federal government, subnational governments, and other stakeholders involved in school connectivity such as Nic.br, MCom, MEC, and Anatel.
Regarding the promotion of technology use by educators, children, and adolescents in schools, the consultant will have to deliver specific products to support UNICEF Brazil in coordinating the implementation of the Connected Territories project, carried out by implementing partners. In addition to monitoring and overseeing the quality of activities performed by implementing partners, the consultant will have to support UNICEF Education officers in the territories participating in the project in articulating with local governments and interfacing between Education Secretariats, schools, and implementing partners, in alignment with the Education team in Brasília.
Thus, UNICEF aims to establish a consultancy contract to develop the activities already defined in the Giga action plan, agreed upon between UNICEF and the Brazilian government, as well as to support the management and execution of the Connected Territories project, following up on the work plan established between the Education team and the zonal offices in 2025.
