The purpose of the Consultancy is to provide high-level advice for the implementation of the ECHO-funded “Comprehensive Participatory Disaster Preparedness Focused on Highly Vulnerable Communities” project, which aims to improve local participatory risk analysis, disaster preparedness and response capacities to enable children, adolescents, women and their communities to anticipate and respond in a timely manner to adverse events and strengthen the resilience of climate displaced people through an improved emergency response system and empowered communities in Venezuela, women and their communities to anticipate and respond in a timely manner to adverse events and strengthen the resilience of climate-displaced people through an improved emergency response system and empowered communities in Venezuela and by strengthening the capacity of municipal governments, civil protection, education and other authorities to identify risk scenarios and structure contingency plans, early warning systems, evacuation protocols and other anticipatory action processes, with a special focus on the protection and well-being of children.
UNICEF Pacific is in search of a dedicated and proactive international Consultant. The consultancy is for a period of 348 days spread over 16 months. The international consultant will be based in Majuro, RMI for the duration of the assignment with frequent in-country field missions. S/he will supervised on a day-to-day basis by the WASH Specialist of North Pacific Field Office, SBC Specialist of North Pacific Field Office, and with the support of the Chief of Field Office and the Chief of WASH programme at Suva office. S/he will to carry out the technical support and regular dialogues with government counterparts and UNICEF.

The consultant will also support the triangulation and validation of research results and draft policy-relevant research outputs for diverse audiences.
