Under the guidance of the supervisor, you are accountable for the programme planning, design, implementation, and administration of specific projects within a major programme, in accordance with the Country Programme Recommendation and Country Programme Management Plan, with a focus on the achievement of UNICEF's priorities.
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is facing a worsening outbreak of Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox), which has become a serious public health crisis. In December 2022, the Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene and Prevention (MSPHP) declared Mpox a national epidemic following a surge in cases. By the end of 2022, the DRC had reported 5,677 suspected cases and 213 deaths (3.7% case fatality rate). The situation worsened in 2023, with 14,626 cases and 654 deaths (4.46% case-fatality rate), and the trend has continued in 2024, with 38,185 reported cases, 8,607 confirmed cases and 1,049 deaths so far.
Under the guidance and supervision of the senior adviser, the incumbent focuses on expanding GHTF by engaging key governmental and institutional donors, securing multi-year commitments, and ensuring GHTF remains a leading and impactful funding tool for addressing crises.
The purpose of this assignment is to plan and produce innovative UNICEF Supply-related content for publication across external platforms, and day-to-day management, development and promotion of UNICEF Supply Division’s social media channels. This involves collaborative planning, creative development, and production of content across platforms, as well as the planning and production of content for campaigns and visits by media, donors and partners, and other outward facing activities. It will also involve the consistent and strengthened use of data, analytics and content marketing deliver on strategy and increase audience and supporter engagement across channels.
This post sits within the Europe Team of PPD and is responsible for the overall contributions management roles pertaining to relationship with European partners. The Programme Associate reports to the Senior Adviser in New York and supports different sub-teams in New York and in outposts in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Denmark.
