The Global Learning Centre (GLC) was established as part of the GSSC to develop and deliver training for UNICEF staff globally.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF GSSC and UNICEF ICTD are seeking an HR Associate (Curriculum Developer/Instructor) to create learning materials as part of the Information Security Human Risk Management Strategy under UNICEF’s Cybersecurity Program.

The HR Associate will mostly focus on e-learning development using a variety of development tools, with occasional broadcast and face-to-face presentations. This is a Temporary Appointment with a duration of 364 days.

Key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Work with ICTD Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify learning needs 
  • Support the identification of learning needs in collaboration with ICTD Subject Matter Expert
  • Collaborate with ICTD SMEs to understand the learning needs and to determine the best method for presenting learning initiatives 
  1. Develop learning and awareness solutions in Information Security
  • Develop design concept papers based on learning needs in relation to the Human Risk Management strategy
  • Design tailored modules for high-risk groups
  • Create awareness materials such as videos, infographics, images and bulletins for Information Security Awareness, both targeted at all staff and at specific groups
  • Design and develop learning initiatives tailored to the identified high-risk groups (including self-paced learning modules and visuals for live delivery)
  • Work with SMEs to prove and refine content as required 
  • Update the office’s intranet SharePoint sites as needed
  • Share learning materials and programmes on Agora, UNICEF's Learning Management System
  1. Update the mandatory course on Information Security Awareness
  • Coordinate with ICTD SME to assess the needs for an update
  • Work with SME to develop the new content
  • Coordinate with the Agora team for publishing and launch
  • Introduce the Mandatory Information Awareness Training at the GSSC facility and via the broadcast studio as part of the Global Induction programme.
  1. Use of latest methods and technology to develop innovative learning outputs  
  • Support the HR Manager and the ICTD SME by carrying out background research on lessons learned for knowledge development and identification of best practices 
  • Research and report on best and cutting-edge technologies for learning development 
  • Develop expertise in the recommended tools for development
  1. Support in monitoring and reporting
  • Support the ICTD SME in creating reports, updates, presentations and other awareness materials tailored for regional and country offices
  • Update dashboards and analytics, and basic data consolidation and wrangling

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education (i.e. high school diploma) is required, preferably supplemented by university courses in either Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resources, Public/Business Administration or any other relevant field is an asset.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in Curriculum Design and/or e-learning development is required. Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience is required for candidates with completed bachelor’s degree. A relevant master’s degree replaces an additional two years.
  • Instructional Design experience is required 
  • Knowledge of E-Learning management systems is desirable
  • Experience with e-learning development tools, such as Articulate, Vyond, etc. is desirable
  • Proven adult learning training facilitation expertise is desirable 
  • Video editing and design experience is an asset
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is a strong asset.

General Service (GS) staff are locally recruited staff and therefore, candidates are personally responsible for any travel and accommodation arrangements. UNICEF does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff.
